2 weeks to go!

"Papalapit na ang Bakasyon,
Papalayo naman ang Allowance."

two weeks before we will be in different sections,
where only ten of us will be classmates again..
two weeks before vacation..
two weeks before the end of our Freshmen life..
two weeks before the start of being a Sophomore..

we will miss everything during our Freshmen days..
the teachers that taught us every lesson we need to know..
our classmates that made us laugh
in every joke they share even if it was so waley..
the Seniors, Juniors and Sophies that helped us and
served as our inspiration in everything..
the happy moments with our friends before/during/after classes..
the room where we used to play, read, write, and have fun..
ETC..

MultiTasking/Cramming

I used to do multitasking and cramming whenever we have many projects, assignments, worksheets, tests, or any school work to do during week ends.
I always lack time.
I don't know how to manage my time for I have no schedule of activities..
Like what I am doing now,, It's already midnight and I'm still doing our project in Social Science, Computer Science, Mathematics.. I have not yet reviewed for our final exam this week.. I have not yet practiced for our presentation in Banduria..
Haixt.. I wish I could finish all of this, this weekend... Wish me Luck. xD

Last Meeting

Last Wednesday was our Last meeting (which we thought Friday)in Computer Science 1 with Sir Tom Secundo :(
where we just discussed about the Tips on how to make a PowerPoinT presentation which are:
(1) use compelling materials
(2) keep it simple
(3) minimize numbers in slides
(4) don't parrot powerpoint
(5) time your remarks
(6) give it a rest
(7) use vibrant colors
(8) import other images and graphics
(9) distribute handout at the end
(10) edit ruthlessly before presenting

Our Last Activity was to Create a PowerPoint that has hyperlink, pictures, etc..

We will miss CompSci,,, esp. Sir Tom's jokes..xD

10 slides

How To Persuade A Person

For our project in Comp Sci 1, we're gonna make a presentation with exactly 10 slides about the topic How to Persuade a Person.
As far as I know, PERSUADE means to CONVINCE.
The first thing that came to my mind is SMILE.
then,I tried to search in the net how to persuade a person.
I found out that TIMING is EVERYTHING. It is said that you should know when to talk to them, play with them, etc..

.other steps are in my PowerPoinT presentation..

PowerPoinT

This is not my first time to encounter PowerPoinT. Back in my Elementary years, we used to report using PowerPoinT. We put colorful backgrounds and different animations and effects of our own.

Today, we tested out skills in making presentations using PowerPoinT. We put Images, Hyperlinks, Animations and Others. All of us in the row made a presentation about Same Sex Marriage because it was the topic of our 4th Quarter Quick Speak Finals.

First Encounter with Windows Movie Maker

It is my first time to use the Movie Maker in my whole life. I don't have any clue how to use it. I just click here and there like I know what I'm clicking. I was very amazed by what it does and what I see in the so called 'Preview Monitor'. I was also impressed by the effects. I realized that it is so hard to make movies like the ones we watch on cinemas and on televisions. You need perseverance and patience to make it wonderful and fantastic.

"You may encounter many defeats,
but you must not be defeated.
In fact,
it may be necessary to encounter the defeats,
so you can know who you are,
what you can rise from,
how you can still come out of it."
-Maya Angelou

Windows Movie Maker

Windows Movie Maker is where we create and edit videos for movies or other things.

The Menu bar is used to perform tasks in the Movie Maker.
The Tasks Pane is used to import video clips and images; add effects, transitions, titles and credits; and save and send the video.
The Storyboard/Timeline shows the sequence of the pictures and where you edit it (how long it will appear in the video, where you put the effects/transitions)
The Preview Monitor is where you can watch the video.
The Contents Pane contains what ever is in the collection (pictures and clips)

Tarpaulin

We have to make a
tarpaulin that invites
Guests and Parents
to go to
14th Commencement
Exercises
of our school.

We have put the
school,
date,
and venue.

We chose our
own colorful
backgrounds.

We put designs
on text by
having different
font styles,
colors,
and sizes
and made it
attractive.

We also put
stamps
or other
pictures
that would
prove that it
is about the
commencement
exercise...

Magazines

Ourselves as the Cover of our Personal Made Magazine using Photo Shop

Before we made our own magazines,
we first identified the parts of a magazine which are:
(1)Masthead
-magazine title
(2)Dateline
-date of the magazine
-price
(3)Main Image
-cover photo
-biggest picture
(4) Cover lines
-topics featured in the article
(5) Bar code

Then, its up to us how we're gonna make our own.

Time to be Creative in your Own Way

"Imagination is the beginning of creation.
You imagine what you desire,
You will what you imagine,
and at last,
You create what you will."
-George Bernard Shaw

Our activity is to create our own poster about anything we want. I created about our Freshmen Olympics. It is the competition of the three sections, Emerald, Diamond and Sapphire.
I made the background gradient color. I wrote a text with different font styles. I also put every details needed like the sponsors, date and venue. I also put stamps for designs..

I made the poster as creative as I can... I used my imagination to help me in doing this..

Logo by Paint or PhotoShop?

It's already 4th quarter... New topics ahead...

We started by creating a Pisay logo using Paint..

First, sir Tom made the logo fast but attractively. While doing, he explained to us, the tools and its uses. Then, its our turn.. It's just easy to make the logo using Paint (DOST part), especially if you always use Paint and it is not your first time to use it. The difficult part is just in the fire. It is hard to make a fire in Paint. Sir said that it is up to us how we will make a fire. We just have to be creative and innovative.

After doing such, we moved to our next topic which is Photo Shop. We first discussed the parts of the window, the tools and its function. Then, we made the Pisay logo again.. It was very tricky. I was very confused about the layers and the tools. I always ask my seatmates what to do, especially because it is my first time to use Photoshop. Whenever I do wrong, I always repeat from the top because pressing ctrl + z just undo only one activity. Again, the fire is the hardest thing to make.

But then, after many attempts/things that I have done in our activity, I realized that making logo using Photoshop is easier than Paint.

Microsoft Excel

1. There is a tool in Excel that allows you to quickly fill up a column or a row with a series of numbers or alphabets, once you key in the first few.

5. When you type in a formula in Excel and copy this formula across the entire column or row, the formula automatically changes to refer to the next column or row. What is this called?

-> Relative Referencing

6. If you don't want Excel to change cell references automatically, but keep the cell fixed in a formula, what do you do?

-> Add $ before the cell

7. If you have a repetitive set of tasks that you perform on an Excel worksheet, what is the fastest way to get it done?

-> Use Macros

8. When you write a formula in Excel, the references in the formula are limited to that worksheet only.

-> False

9. We've all done copying and pasting text. What if you copy and paste a cell format? What is the name of the tool provided to this?

Ab$olute Reference$

An absolute cell reference is used when you want a cell reference to stay fixed on a specific cell.
This means that as a formula or function is copied and pasted to other cells, the cell references in the formula or function do not change.

That is what we used in our activity.

To have only one formula for many cells and gets the correct or the answer that you want, we use the dollar sign ($) to express the absolute reference.
Example is B$6 which means that only the column of the formula can change following the pattern.

We're Back!

After the Christmas/New Year vacation, we are now back to regular classes.
Almost all of us forgot our lessons.
But nicely, all of us done what we must do, like projects, home works and others, even if they were too busy during the vacation because of the reunions and etc.

Subtraction (-)

1. Click on the cell where you want the difference to be shown with the mouse pointer to make it an active cell.

2. Type the equal sign ( = ) in the cell to begin the formula
    * Formulas in Excel always begin with the equal sign.

3. Click on the cell of the minuend with the mouse pointer to add that cell reference to the formula or just type the name of the cell after the equal sign.

4. Type a minus sign ( - ) in the cell after the cell reference.

5. Click the cell of he subtrahend with the mouse pointer to add that cell reference to the formula or just type the name of the cell after the minus sign.

6. Press the ENTER key on the keyboard to show the answer.
